If Logitech ever gets serious about bluetooth, I might change my mind, but for now, the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse is the best bluetooth mouse you can get for the Mac. The Windows key and gestures are a little wonky, but with some effort, they work fine with OS X. At best, such efforts *might* have helped with unstable hot-spots or fluctuating connection strength — in theory, they may have even added a couple feet to the coverage radius — but it was hard to tell It’s good practice to restart your computer before attempting any change to system configurations like this.
I am also interested in setting up the Macbook with a bluetooth GPS receiver for use in the car or when sailing. So far I have searched around but haven't found any software with offline maps included. The best solution (and cheapest) so far I have found is to use Google Earth and increase its cache size. Then I guess you can run the route beforehand so the roads and images are stored offline ready for use. Is there a standalone package with roadmaps (for the UK/Europe) built in for offline use? This must also be able to connect to a the bluetooth GPS receiver.
Has anyone got any recommendations for these too? Thanks, Neil. Apple Footer. This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.
